Thank you to all of our dear friends who made the journey to Saltery Cover to celebrate the beginning of lives together.

We spent the day halibut fishing after the ceremony.

Welcome to our wedding site!

Saltry Cove is on Prince of Whales Island in Southeast Alaska. If you are interested in viewing images of our experiences there, you are in the right place. If you are interested in purchasing building materials for our cabin as a wedding gift, you are also in the right place. Be sure to click on "older posts" (at the bottom of the page) to see all photos of Saltry Cove.

Plans to build .....

Dear friends and family,

Thank you for visiting the site of our wedding. We will be married on August 4, 2009 at Saltry Cove. In the summer of 2010, we plan to build our bedroom cabin. The main, existing cabin will remain as the communal living space with kitchen and dining room. Our cabin will be our own private space, that we have designed and planned. We will be purchasing building materials from a local mill in Thorn Bay (approximately 10 miles from Saltry Cove) and will bring them by boat to Saltry Cove. The materials listed below are the building supplies we will need for the cabin. If you wish to purchase part of our cabin as a wedding gift, please send a check to:

Dora and kelp

The cabin is in the distance, with Dora examining the life under the kelp at low tide.

Pulling Pots

This is an octupus that came up in one of the shrimp pots last summer (you can see a shrimp squirming to get away, caught up with the octupus).

Low tide

This is Dan and Dora walking over to Ron and Joan's at low tide.

Sunset

This is Luise, standing on Ron and Joan's dock after pulling shrimp pots all evening.

Dora walking home

The existing cabin and shed are in the distance.

View from the front deck

This is a view from the existing cabin, off the front deck. We will be building a cabin up in the woods, behind this one.
